Continually reconfigured for new mission, the B-25 served a multitude of roles during combat as well as in peace time. This specific fragment came from the engine cowl panel of B-25J-15-N aircraft SN 44-289398. Now known as "Old Glory", 44-28938 rolled off the assembly line in Kansas City, KS on 9 August 1944 and was immediately dispatched to the 12th Army Air Force, 57th Bomb Wing, 310th Bombardment Group, 428th Bombardment Squadron stationed in Italy.
