Description: I’m very excited to offer this awesome, restored early 1900’s electric hall pendant featuring INCREDIBLE slag glass tulip form shades! This pendant, from thereabouts around 1900 (+ or - a few years), is in great vintage condition with a bright, slightly mottled patina that brass can only acquire through decades of oxidation. I did give it a thorough cleaning and remove the original failed lacquer coating, but did not polish the piece so that the bright brass will mellow out in time. There are some surface blemishes, minute dings, and irregularities to the body of the fixture, but this can be expected from any piece from this era. The ruby slag glass tulip form shades are absolutely astounding! They are amazing lit or unlit, and really “make” the whole fixture. Their deep, rich color is not one often seen in shades of this kind, and they are a well matched pair. They emit a warm, radiant glow, and really up the ambiance factor. I particularly love how textural they are on the interior of the petals, infinitely adding to their character. The soldering work on the brass banding between each petal is unique and quite delicate - truly I’ve never offered a fixture with shades such as these before. They’re quite coveted among glass collectors, and don’t find their way to market very often. The paddle sockets are original to the fixture and have a strong, satisfying click when turned, while the wiring and mounting hardware are all new. Notice the patent date of 1903 on the shells, which I have highlighted. How cool! I picture this in a foyer, a hall, or perhaps a boudoir. It measures 20 inches long and is about 24 inches at its widest point, measured from shade to shade. I am unable to make length adjustments to this fixture. The ceiling canopy measures about 5 inches in diameter and should amply cover most types of modern electrical boxes. A medallion or adaptor may be needed though, depending on the circumstances of your intended installation. All the necessary mounting hardware is included in the sale. Light bulbs are not. Shipped via UPS ground. Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have before making a purchase. Feedback on eBay is important! I go to great lengths to ensure that each of my customers has a positive experience purchasing one of my lights, and I love seeing and hearing from them after they’ve installed their new-to-them pieces. I love to see my lights in their new forever homes - send photos!
