Description: Description:For sale is a vintage Universal Genève Uni-Compax chronograph from circa 1950.CASE: Crafted from solid 18K pink gold (750), this case is in very good condition for its age. It measures approximately 41mm from lug to lug and 34.5mm in width, excluding the winding crown, unsigned but remains in good condition.DIAL: The original white dial shows a significant patina from age, with some wear and hairlines, the serigraphy remains legible, and the dial is signed "UNIVERSAL GENEVE," "UNI-COMPAX," and "SWISS."HANDS: The original hands are aged accordingly, with both small hands blued originally.MOVEMENT: The watch features the high-grade Universal Genève Caliber 285 ("Calibre 14 ligne"), which is in very good condition for its age. It includes a 45-minute chronograph function and a sub-second hand at 09 o’clock. The movement has been recently serviced, including full disassembly, cleaning, lubrication with Moebius Swiss oil, and adjustment for accurate timekeeping. It operates smoothly and keeps precise time.CASEBACK: The original snap caseback is made of 18K pink gold (750). It is signed "Universal Genève" internally and marked with the model reference 12445 and serial number 1159973 externally.CRYSTAL: The Plexiglass (acrylic) lens is in very good condition.WRISTBAND: The watch comes with an Eric Bertrand Genève green genuine leather strap, 20mm in width.This is one of the most iconic chronographs from Universal Genève, presented in very good original condition.
