Description: Vintage 1940's "City of Oakland" Miller "Bow Tie" Parking Meter Up for your consideration is a NICE Vintage 1940's "City of Oakland" Miller "Bow Tie" Parking Meter. Meter accepts nickels & dimes only and has a 2-hour time limitation. Stamped on the front of the meter is the words,"City of Oakland". The glass on the face of the meter appears to still be in very good condition. No known scratches, cracks, or broken glass were found during our inspection. Meter is not working at this time; therefore, our inspection was rather limited. The back vault door is missing, as the coin box, coin tray, and a few screws. The internal mechanics of the meter is a little loose due to missing the previously mentioned mounting screws. See photos for more details as to item's overall condition. Dimensions - Height 15" x Width 8" x Depth 5". Post Hole Diameter - 2 3/4". Meter dates back to when you needed change in your pocket to park on the street or risk getting a ticket. This is a great piece from days gone by and would be an excellent restoration project piece for any Automobilia and / or Transporation Memorabilia Collector.
