He hangs upside down as he looks upon the world from a fresh point of view. Despite his puppet-like facade, he maneuvers his body freely, just as other demon dolls have before him; he is entirely autonomous and has positioned himself here due to his own actions. Whether intentional or not, he is content in his present stance, alluded to by his serene face. ‘Normal’ is a relative concept to The Hanged Man; he accepts reality as it has come to be, yet actively chooses to see things from a new angle. He understands that there is no “right way” to interpret this world or the situations we encounter while residing here. Around his head, we see a spotlight cast a sort of halo against the backdrop of the curtain and stage.
