Description: SINGER 221-1 Featherweight 1950 Portable Vintage Elec. Sewing Machine EXCELLENT! Description: This listing is for a Original SINGER 221-1 Featherweight 1950 Portable Vintage Elec. Sewing Machine with Parts & Accessories. This complete set includes a 1950-vintage Singer 221-1 model "featherweight" sewing machine with hinged base, power pedal, cords, and power transformer (on the sewing machine base). Also included are sewing head adapters and parts in their original boxes, and a strong carrying case with handle. Original Singer instruction manuals for the 221-1, Singer button-holder, Blind Stitch Attachment as well as other paperwork are included (see images). OPERATING CONDITION: The Singer model has been tested and appears to work well, with a smooth sounding motor. The belt is a red color and may have been replaced at some point as it appears in good condition. The only issue I see is there are some small gouge-marks on the power/pedal cord insulation - note that these little gouges in the insulation do not appear deep enough to expose the wires (please see image close ups of these areas). There is a separate instrument included with this set - It appears to be a Singer button-holder device measuring about 6" long. It comes in a separate green box (as pictured) but has not been tested. COSMETIC CONDITION: Overall, the cosmetic condition of this amazing vintage sewing system is in excellent / "near mint" condition. The sewing attachments come in original boxes. The carrying case has two keys for locking it, and the key locks actually work. The case has some scuffs at the outer corners, and inside at the bottom is some white stains. The case hinges and locks hold great. There is an original Singer oil can, although it doesn't weigh that much (and may not be a suitable oil for use due to age), there is also a pack of Singer Button-holder templates. Some paperwork has wrinkled pages, but overall the manuals are all legible. To round out this amazing set, there is thread and many unused needles in a small case from other companies.
