RARE JAMS WORLD HAWAIIAN SHIRT RECREATION BY UNION BAY: “DAVE’S WORLD” (SIZE L)

Description: RARE JAMS WORLD HAWAIIAN SHIRT UNION BAY RECREATION: “DAVE’S WORLD” (SIZE L) *This is a lightly pre-owned shirt that has been hand cleaned and will be lightly pressed before shipping, There are no obvious flaws* Size: Marked as ”L” Layflat Measurements: Shoulder sleeve seam to shoulder sleeve seam: 22” Shoulder seam to bottom hem: 30” Across the chest under sleeves: 25” This is such an interesting shirt with a very obscure history… in that I couldn’t find hardly anything about it! There are a few other listing here on Ebay, one is an original Jams World shirt, and the other is just like this one, a union bay recreation. This shirt is made with 100% Rayon, and features plastic tortoise shell buttons as the closure. There is one breast pocket on the left front side of the shirt. But the most interesting thing is the pattern; I have found it referred to as “Dave’s World”, a celebration of Dave Rochlen who founded Jams World back in the 1960’s. This shirt features a graphic design of old photographs of his surfing and lifeguard days in Santa Monica/Hawaii. There is a photo on this pattern that I haven’t figured out, a picture of a captain. My best guess is it is someone from his days in the U.S. Marines. A very interesting pattern to collect; though this is not an original Jams World.
