RARE 1943 LONGINES ANTIQUE VINTAGE 6B/159 RAF PILOT / AIRMANS WATCH WW2 WORKING

Description: ANOTHER GREAT RAF WW2 WATCH FROM TIMEISPRECIOUS!! FOR YOUR BUYING PLEASURE TODAY IS THIS RARE GENUINE LONGINES C 1943 BRITISH MILITARY CALIBRE 12.68N ROYAL AIR FORCE WW2 WRISTWATCH IN NICE ORIGINAL CONDITION. A GOOD FIELD WORN EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER WRIST WATCH!! CASE: This superb Longines military wristwatch has a its original alloy case with stainless back with steel case back. The case shows a lot of natural aging and the alloy has deteriated over its 81 years . The bezel has a some normal wear related nicks to its edge. I can see no noticeable dents or dings. The back of the case is engraved with the letters 6B/159 and numbered A17940. The inside of the case back is fully signed by LONGINES. The case measures 3.2cms (32mm) across excluding the crown. DIAL: This is a lovely original military FULLY SIGNED LONGINES dial which is typical of this type of rare watch. It is in aged condition with darkening of the left side and lifting of the laminate between 6 and 12 o’clock resulting in a bubbling effect which has rubbed the numerals. It has Arabic numerals in the most are legible but not perfect. It is signed with the word 'LONGINES' an ‘Swiss made’ to the bottom of the dial. The dial has a blued steel centre second dial which is original and is in very good condition. The hour and minute hands are original too and are blued steel and are in excellent condition. This lovely dial has a black 'railway' outer minute track. The plastic crystal is in good condition. MOVEMENT: This is a genuine LONGINES 12.68N 16 jewel manual wind movement. It is in working order and has kept good time as tested over a 24 hour period. There is some loss of the gold colored plating to some of the movement edges. The movement has been timed and oiled. It winds and sets smoothly. As always a full service would be recommended for continuing working order and optimum timekeeping. The movement is numbered 663xxxx dating it to circa 1943. It is fully stamped 'LONGINES' and 'SWISS MADE'. I’m not sure if the crown is original as it is a brass color rather than the normal white metal. (See photos) BAND: This beautiful watch has a brand new 16mm leather black band fitted. The band is in excellent condition and has never been on a wrist. The band and watch measure approx 9 inches in total length, so I would estimate that the watch will fit up to an 8 and 3/4 inch wrist comfortably.
