RARE 1940's WW2 GRAFLEX 4x5 Civilian COMBAT GRAPHIC 45 Camera. Green US Army

Description: This is a pretty Rare One with an interesting backstory! It is a Graflex Speed Graphic type camera that was developed especially for US Military by Graflex, to be used in the field by Combat Photographers during World War II. When the war was coming to an end in 1945, Graflex had a large over-supply of them, so they stuck on the "Graphic 45" nameplate and sold them just as they were--- with Army Olive Drab paint color. The features are similar to a regular Speed Graphics, but with the fixed Hard Shell body, no folding bellows among other design modifications. This one is well used with some good and bad aspects---- definitely needs some rehab or place it in your collection as is. It has a 127mm f/4.5 Kodak Anastigmat lens in a Graphic Supermatic shutter and it includes the 4x5 Pack Film Holder shown. First the GOOD: The Supermatic shutter works reasonably well and the speeds sound/look pretty good, but it has not been fully tested for accuracy. The lens glass is fairly clean, except for a couple specs of dust in there--- but no fungus or fog or separation. The aperture works and it looks fine and the focus knob works. The ground glass is complete, as are the two viewfinders on top and the protective cover opens and closes well. The Bad: It has a lot of nicks, scuffs, scratches, and paint wear---- looks like it's been through some battles. The Curtain Shutter switches and winder will wind at the T setting, one turn and then trip, but it doesn't turn and fire to other settings. And I don't know the condition of the curtain in there... so it maybe be fouled. There seems to be a small part missing---- a little lever that should protrude on the right side of the "box"--- that comes out of a vertical slit--- that cocks the Supermatic Shutter. So you have to reach in from the front to cock it. Naturally, it has Not been fully tested extensively, and I don't know all it's nuances--- but it can be assumed it will need some rehab for real use. So consider it a Rare collectible, and a candidate for some rehabilitation/restoration work---- so please don't expect it to be like new---- it has issues, both known and unknown. What you see is what you'll get--- the actual item for sale is pictured--- please check them all out. Continental US Shipping will be $15.50. I will ship the next day after purchase. It will be packed well and safe. International Shipping via the ebay program. PLEASE READ THIS--- PLEASE READ THIS--- By Buying you Agree with this: I am not Amazon or a professional Camera Store seller--- just an old camera collector/shooter selling some Used items. I'm not here trying to rip anybody off or sneak one past you. But that said... I'm not into having things go back and forth based on opinion, or risk "part swapping" either. So I'm sorry, I can't sell this item on Approval--- it's being sold As Is, No Warranty, No Buyer's Remorse, No Try-outs, No Returns... being sold for collectible purposes, not in fully operational condition, not like new--- as a collectible for Parts or Repair. I've been a photographer for 30+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for and can recognize when something is broken. But I can't "Bench Test" every thing to factory specs and unless it's Brand New... I can't guarantee that every single aspect may be Perfect. Any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge and I try to be detailed and truthful, but I can't describe every every millimeter of it--- and I might have missed something. If you have a question about something particular--- Ask Before You Buy It. What you see is what you'll get and I package my items well, so it arrives in the same condition as shown. SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE Interesting Items---- I'll be selling a large portion of my camera collection over the next few months, so check back and/or tell me what you're looking for. If you have questions about this or other items or combined shipping or other discounts---- please ask... Let's make a deal. Thanks
