Description: RARE - 1920-40 CASE XX TESTED R346PU / R383PU Candy Stripe Pocket Knife READ ALL OF THE BELOWThis is a very rare knife indeed. The pattern number is an educated guess, after referring to many of my knife books, without finding the exact knife or pattern. This is best considered an R383PU, or a R346PU 3-backspring whittler with punch. The R indicating the candy stripe handle, the 3 for the number of blades, but the pattern number is still a mystery. If you have additional information on this blade, that is helpful, not critical, we would love to hear your take. Details & Condition. Approximately ~ 3-5/8" closed Celluloid candy stripe handle. This knife is not in NOS, mint or near mint condition. This has been carried, sharpened, well-used and shows signs of it's age. It has both pitting and carbon spots.A prospective buyer is expected to review all the photos and use the zoom function to ensure quality. The main clip point blade has a long pull. It snaps, but has a soft snap and a slight wobble, the back spring moves slightly when opened as is seen in photos. It is marked Case XX Tested and is faded. The other two blades remain snappy. The spear blade is also marked Case XX Tested and is faded. There is a crack on one of the scales, as per the photos. This is a sparse pattern and therefore very rarely offered. It is a very cool and beautiful piece of Case history. A great Case relic to add to a collection for those looking to hold onto this historical knife. We understand this isn’t just a knife but a collector’s item. This knife will come securely packaged in a box, not an envelope. Feel free to visit and follow our store for more vintage/collectible knives. We add new vintage/collectible knives every week.
