Description: Imperial German, Great War, Line Officers Muted Belt Buckle without side fastener from the Kingdom of Prussia. This buckle has seen some action in it's life and has the age to prove it. I have a separate listing for an officer's buckle in near mint condition. Side fasteners are periodically available on eBay should you desire to make this item into a belt rather than display this buckle with others in your collection. I purchased a few side fasteners from another collector and if available at the time of purchase can be added for an additional $50. I had two of these muted buckles, the other has sold. Imperial Germany was a federation of twenty-seven kingdoms, duchies, principalities and "free and imperial cities".
