The SLEEK, WARMLY RADIANT 18K Antique yellow gold snake, with its lightly textured head & securely set real ruby eyes, is tightly coiled around the finger in the position its seen~~ it would take a jeweller to change it- this is not thin enough to be moved easily. And yes, the tail was made that way- I can see why- it looks like when a snake is using its tail to propel itself! The width of the widest part of the front is 7/16", with the back being 3.5/16" wide. You can be certain this was NOT a dimestore ring when purchased. Generally pieces before 1906 that actually were marked with the gold content WERE from fine jewellers. It is a very wearable US size 7 (which is a UK size "O")!! It is ever so slightly oval, but fits so nicely! This Clearly marked for 18K gold, as its actually marked K18. The family came from Australia to California in 1905, and history had this was something that came with them. Wish I knew more, but that's all they themselves knew. It was also tested and GUARANTEED SOLID 18KT K18 warm yellow gold. It is **VERY** SOLIDLY CRAFTED won't bend ding or dent without a SERIOUS bit of effort. It weighs 2.9grams, although you'll agree in hand it feels much heavier. I tried to take a myriad of photos so you can see all angles.
