Description: Antique Meiji era tapestry Banko art pottery. Very thin walled pottery decorated with fused panels and finished with a delicate pottery bow and folded bag mouth. The rim has a thin line of gold and the bow has hand painted red decoration. The outside is a matte finish and the inside has a thin clear gloss glaze. The pottery has a translucent quality. Approximately 5 inches long and 4 inches tall. There is a rub mark on the handle where your thumb would rest. There is a makers mark incised into clay near handle. This would make a nice addition to any collection of 19th century Banko Earthenware. Getting harder to find. Please see pictures. Will pack with care. 4-336CHNA
