Description: Hello, Antique English Silverplate Teapot w Exotic Bird / leaves decor etched on it. Hinged lid. Fluted. Tallest point at handle 8.25". Widest point handle to spout 10.5" Oval body 4.5"x 5". Bottom impressed markings 5 OVER 270 with alpha-numeric indicative of 1870-1890 (approx) Solid. Careful examination can see subtle denting, but it's difficult to see. Decorated with exotic bird (crane?) and what may be palm leaves. The "corners" of the oval body have raised vertical parallel ridges with etched decor. The top finial is held by wing nut. Fully tightened, the finial still rotates. Hinged lid intact & working fine. Interesting to note...the handle is affixed to the body with 2 white spacers (top/bottom attachments). I think they're ceramic? White Enameled metal? Not sure. OK....check the numerous photos. It's heavy (2 lbs.) THANK YOU !
