Description: Antique Religious Holy Card / Print " Venez a moi vous tous qui souffrez. " (" Come to me all who suffer. ") Image of Jesus Christ as a boy, giving comfort to a lost sheep which he has found in the wilderness. The title is based on a verse from the Bible , Matthew 11:28 " L. Turgis, Edit.r Paris , 60 rue de Ecoles " 3" x 4 5/8" Undated; 1800s, probably the 1870s or earlier. The publisher was Louis Auguste Turgis, Le Jeune (the younger), born in Gouville in 1818, died in Paris in 1894. Turgis was also selling prints in New York City as early as 1854. The name of his print-making company was changed to " L. Turgis et fils " in 1891, and so this holy card was created before that year. ---------- Very slight wear at the corners.
