Description: Handsome fold-out 1965 Chevron road map of Arizona, printed more than 55 years ago. The map opens to 18" x 26½" and has good detail on old highway alignments, including Route 66, with cartography by H.M. Gousha. On the reverse side there are inset plans of Phoenix, Tucson, Grand Canyon National Park, and Lake Mead. The map was distributed by the Standard Oil Company of California in 1965 to promote its Chevron brand. The map is dated in the legend, and the code number in the lower margin is 8-MM. The cover artwork cover is a striking view of Canyon de Chelly in northeasstern Arizona. There's a Chevron credit card ad on the back panel. Condition: This map is in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with no marks or writing.
