Written by Lizzie Yu Der Ling, better known as "Princess" Der Ling (1885-1944). Although not a member of the Qing royal family, Der Ling was given the title of Princess while serving as the first lady-in-waiting for Empress Dowager Cixi. She was a writer of several memoirs, books, and magazine articles.Including twenty-two illustrations and the scarce, original dust wrapper. CONDITION In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent, with just a touch of shelf wear. Dust wrapper is clipped, though the price is still visible; it is smart, with some shelf wear and small closed tears to the extremities. Spine is slightly sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
