In a Lawrence of Rugby binding. William Edmondstoune Aytoun was a Scottish lawyer and poet. His reputation is based on this work, which was originally published in 1848. CONDITION In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine and to the board edges. Externally, generally smart with small patches of rubbing to the extremities, joints and to the head and tail of spine. Gilt stamping to spine is fading slightly. Binder's stamp to verso of front endpaper, Lawrence Binder, Rugby. Gift inscription to the recto of front endpaper dated 1902. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot throughout.
